Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory, 2019

“In a continuation of my work in portraiture, this video series explores the theme of movement in an emotional rather than a physical state. The transition from one state of mind, one place in memory, one relationship to the next, and the feelings we get when we revisit them.

This work is the observation of the emotions that the subjects experienced while listening to the music of their choosing.

Most of us have experienced some emotional transition periods in our life, often through past relationships or other major circumstantial changes. Music, especially songs of love and heartbreak, often plays an integral role in this intensely emotional process. These songs can become a source of comfort and strength during these moments of love, loss and longing, and in turn, they become an inseparable part of these experiences.”
